Freight forwarders’ day 2005

During three years of its existence the “Freight forwarders’ day” became the important event for facilitation of development of transport communications in the Black Sea region and their integration into the European system of transport corridors.

The evidence of increasing interest to this event is the traditional participation in it of officials, directors of transport enterprises, European Sea Ports Organization (ESPO), International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA), European Association for Forwarding, Transport, Logistic and Customs Services (CLECAT) etc.

International forum “Freight forwarders’ day” traditionally takes place within the framework of the conference “Development of transport network of the Black Sea region” and the exhibition "InterTransPort", where the companies in transport, ports and intermodal transport are presented.

The first International forum “Freight forwarders’ day” took place in 2003. Along with international conference “Development of transport network of the Black Sea region” and within the framework of exhibition "InterTransPort 2004 " more than 80 companies took part in the work of “Freight forwarders’ day”, the directors of freight forwarding associations of Ukraine, Russia, Moldova, Uzbekistan, as well as the heads and representatives of several large industrial groups met and exchanged opinions. Among the participants of event there were: Marco Sangaletti, the director of International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA) and Marco Sorgetti, the Director General of European Association for Forwarding, Transport, Logistic and Customs Services (CLECAT). Within the framework of transport forum the following items were discussed: the state of industry in general, the problems of double taxation of income for providing of transport and freight forwarding services for non-residents, the problems by foreign-economic activity and the ways of solving them. In June 2005 the III International forum “Freight forwarders’ day” took place in Odessa. Within the framework of this event, the conference “Vocational training and standards” and the workshop “Development of quality management system on the basis of international standard ISO 9001:2000 in transport and freight forwarding organizations " took place.

The following persons made presentations at the conference: Markus Shoeni, FIATA Manager on vocational training – presentation "Professionalism and global education in international forwarding - the role of the FIATA Advisory Body Vocational Training (ABVT)"; I. Petrov, the president of Bulgarian National Association of Freight Forwarders - presentation "Role of professional associations in obtaining of special qualification and personnel vocational training"; Marco Sorgetti, Director General, CLECAT - presentation "Compliance with professional standards and requirements – Problems and possibilities of freight forwarding and customs clearance services upon the extension of EU borders "; Yegorov A.B., head of Kiev Center for advanced training and personnel vocational training, State Customs Service of Ukraine – presentation "Adaptation and harmonization of Ukrainian customs law" etc.

During the workshop “Development of quality management system on the basis of international standard ISO 9001:2000 in transport and freight forwarding organizations" the presentations on different items were made- from the basic definitions in quality management system to practical appliance by the development of management system in transport and freight forwarding company. The main subjects of presentations: "Main principles of modern management system at the enterprise”, "Main stages of development and integration of quality management system according to the standard ISO 9001:2000"; "Main statements of international standard ISO 9001. Implementation of process attitude "; "Arrangement of data analysis and improvement within the framework of quality management system "; "Determining of optimal level of specification of documents of quality management system” etc. The workshop was held by Yu. B. Kabakov, director of center for quality systems "INCREASE- System-2" Kabakov Yu.B.

The event was highly esteemed both by delegates and reporters; the organizers and forum participants announced the subject of "Freight forwarders’ day 2006": "Development of transport corridors in Ukraine”.
